With an earth like this, who needs hell?

This book highlights the plight of refugees who came to Malaysia to seek shelter and refuge only to be arrested, abused, tortured and even trafficked to Thailand to be sold as sex slaves or slaves on fishing boats. Let's be honest. How many of us have looked at refugees in a negative light, thinking that they are the root of all social problems? Why haven't we thought that they did not come here to compete for jobs with us? They came here simply because the situation back home was very bad only to find out that the situation here is almost the same. They are exploited, given harsh treatment, labeled as "illegal immigrants" even when they have documents to show that they are refugees. They have already suffered back home, they don't deserve to suffer here. No human being deserves the kind of treatment they get!

The stories and testimonies told by the Burmese refugees are simply heart wrenching. I was in tears when I read about their sufferings. And let me tell you, I am not one who cries when reading a book, no matter how "touching" it is. It opened my eyes to look at refugees in a different light. They did not choose to come here. They had no choice. They came here to seek refuge, but we selfish human beings discriminate them and blame them for things that were not caused by them in the first place. "The Revolving Door" reveals this truth of modern day slavery through the testimonies and eyes of the refugees themselves. It exposes the abuse, the endemic corruption and the trafficking of women, children and refugees in Malaysia and at the Malaysia-Thai border. When faced with injustices and abuses, we can choose to either be enraged or energized.

This book is published by Tenaganita Sdn. Bhd. It is a women and migrant workers organization with the mission to promote and protect the rights of all women and migrant workers within a globalized world.

A diseased heart. Healed.

Have you ever tried fixing something that was so smashed up that all that was left was small pieces of debris? It was impossible, wasn't it? Now what if that "something" was your heart? When someone breaks smashes up your heart so badly, you most probably will never be the same again. Sure, even the deepest wounds heal, but the scars that are left behind will forever be there, haunting you, reminding you, preventing you from starting anew. Forgiving is easy, forgetting is a whole different story.

The pain is so great sometimes that all I want to do is wrench out my heart and throw it away. At least then I wouldn't feel the excruciating pain anymore. There's a battle going on between the thoughtful, caring me and the ignorant, inconsiderate, dark me. Maybe if I didn't care about anyone else, maybe if I built a wall surrounding myself, then no one would be able to hurt me . Maybe then I would be protected, maybe then I wouldn't be tortured, maybe then......

Thank God I have Jesus to fall back on. I have Him to calm the raging storm in me. I can count on Him. He'll heal my heart. Jesus is the only way.

Life is made up of choices. It's up to you to make the right ones.

Mind blowing.

I don't usually blog about bands but this is one band you guys must check out. They're Naturally 7. They don't use musical instruments. They are the instruments. It's something like singing a capella but they call it vocal play. They are 7 members in the band, obviously. You can check out their videos on Youtube. They are really really really super duper crazily cool. The "bassist" and "electric guitarist" are simply amazing. Check out their solos too. Trust me, they'll blow you away. I'm serious.

I'm back. Short freedom.

Whee. I'm on a short unofficial study holiday. As in taking a break from studying for PMR, because PMR trials are officially OVER!!!!!!!! WOOOHHOOO! I cannot wait! One more month to PMR = One more month to freedom!! Merdeka people!

Trials review:
Generally ok. Except for Geografi which was like really super duper tough. It was harder than the Penang state trials like 100 times.

Mathematics Paper 1 was waaaaayyyyyy tougher than PMR's but I managed to finish all the questions except for question 1. Why? 'Cause I didn't have the slightest idea how to do it. Unbelievable huh? Question no. 1. ._.

1) 31, 37, 41, m, n, 53, 59...
In the above number sequence, the value of m+n is
A 90
B 94
C 96
D 98

I totally did not think of prime numbers! Urgh. If you still do not know the answer, it's A. And I got back my Math results today. I got all correct except for question no. 1. I tembak-ed wrongly. -.- So I got 99%. Gosh. Question no. 1!!!!

Sleeping during exams is so syok. There's no one to disturb you and there's air-con.

End of review.
