debate!

by God's grace, I've lived another week...=)

Firstly, about my debate 'friendly' last Wednesday. The debate was in SMJK Keat Hwa in Kedah and it was us versus the Keat Hwa team. It was super scary because the Keat Hwa team was like very experienced and it was our first time representing the school. Suprisingly though, we were not really that nervous during the whole debate. That's what happens if you pray to God before you do anything. =) Before the debate, when we were preparing and all, the Keat Hwa team was super serious while my team was chatting with each other and we were totally not serious. My team and the Keat Hwa team = total opposites. I guess it's our way of taking away our nervousness. haha.

Anyway, I felt that the Keat Hwa team's people were a little fake. I'm not trying to be a batu api or anything. I'm just saying what I think of them. When we first arrived, they were like super friendly. Then right before the debate, they became not friendly and also very competative. I guess I can't blame them because their school's giving them a lot of pressure but if you don't want to be friends with us, then don't act.

At last, we lost. Haha. We lost because our debate skills were terrible and we couldn't speak in fluent and flowery chinese. But the judges said that our points were good. Even that couldn't help us to win. After all, it's a 'debate' friendly, not a 'finding points' friendly. Anyway, I was satisfied with our performance. =)
